Just out of interest...

What vegetables/forage do you feed to your guinea pigs on a daily/weekly basis?
I'm just interested in what other people like to feed their piggies, haha xD

Lol I was going to give my two a piece of nashi pear to try the other day but they are so expensive and so good I decided to eat it myself. They got apple instead.

I feed the piggies
red/green or yellow capsicum, cucumber, coriander and a couple of bits of mixed lettuce or some sort of leafy mix in the morning and in the evening they get a rotation of green beans, snow peas, snap peas, carrot, silverbeet, parsley, celery pretty much anything I have in the fridge at the time they are not fussy with veg. for a occasional treat they get cherry tomato or apple or banana skin, carrot leaves and radish leaves/celery leaves. Sometimes instead of pieces of cucumber and carrot they get the peels for something different if i'm making a salad.

The most common veg my piggies get is:

Red leaf lettuce
Cucumber w/ skin
Radicchio
Bell pepper (various colors)
Shredded carrots
Cilantro - when in season I have tons growing
Parsley - when in season
Endive

I try to make sure they get lettuce every day, unless for some bizarre reason, we're out of it. I've tried radishes and turnips, but so far the piggies have rejected them.

Lettuce, usually lambs lettuce or little gem
Kale
Mint, parsley, coriander, thyme
Spinach, rocket, other salad leaves
Carrot
Bell pepper
Savoy leaves
Apple, blackberries, grapes, banana, blueberries

Obviously not everything all at once, but the above is what I know at least one of them will eat. Going to see if I can pick up some dill today to let them try.

Mine get salad leaves (but not iceberg cos I think its like eating crunchy water - YUK and not good for piggies) cucumber, blueberries, kale and spinach (occasionally as a treat) hazel and bramble leaves (they go CRAZY as the LOVE those - lots of excited squeaking and squabbling), red, green or yellow pepper, occasional apple and melon, celery, brocolli, carrot. Mostly it's what I happen have in the fridge handy. Have tried cauli leaves, banana skin, coriander but they're not keen. Not tried them on grapes, mango or tomato yet.

Wow, I wasn't expecting that many people to reply! Thank you very much, I'll make sure to buy some veg mentioned for my piggies to try and to improve their diet even more :D

my pigs have fresh grass in the morning and in the afternoon (plus hay). No pellets. In the evening a plate with vegs: always a piece of pepper (green, yellow or red), plus endive/radicchio/lettuce, some wild herbs (plantago, wild chicory). Rarely some little piece of apple as a treat. They don't like carrots, fennel, zucchini, cucumber and other vegs, but they eat a great variety of wild grass.
