Does anyone use microfibre towels under their fleece/vetbed? I know it is meant to absorb something like 7 times the amount normal towels do, so wondered if anyone had any experience with this or whether you use just standard towels from the shops?

:))

I use standard towels .Did get 3 thick towelling face cloths from b&m for 2 quid 35 cm squared that I put under the fleece fprrsts

I've not used towels before but I'm going through one of those experimental stages with bedding. I've got myself sorted for my two pair's cages but trying to find something suitable for my group of six due to the extra amount of pee and poo, lol. Do you find normal towels hold the wee well? My mini herd tend to wee in the same places, so do you find layering up the towels tend to help with absorbency/preventing leaks?

i have a group of four and a group of six so bedding not practical so have a shower curtain then incontinence pads then main fleece. The litter trays are at one end in the four cage then two sides of the six cage. They have newspaper then finacard then hay.I peg a fleece over the cage where the litter trays are and this encourages them to wee in them. If you use hay racks these can be put above the litter trays as they wee and poo as they eat. There are extra towels and fleece where they have the ocassional wee that gets changed when wet.My cages are on teh floor and i dont use correx

I use microfibre fleece cloths then newspaper then fleece liners. They do asborb alot! Keeps the coroplast dry for sure! I bought a pack of 50 from screwfix for about a tenner. just rewash and they dry quick too!

I've sewn a layer of fleece onto a kylie sheet (absorbent bed mats they use in hospitals for incontinence) and this absorbs all the wee. This sits on top of a piece of lino which protects the floor. I have two of these so one's in the cage and one's in the wash. Works really well for me :)image.webp

A few of our customers have used microfibre under their vet bed.

They have found that these work well, alternative you could layer your vet bed, we have some clearance vet bed which might be suitable.

I sometimes use puppy pads as they are super absorbent but you have to make sure the piggies can't get to them as they are not nibble safe. So if you are going to use puppy pads you need two layers of fleece cage liners.
