I have recently swapped back to vetbed after being on woodshavings. I last had my guinea-pigs on vetbed in January but I found it got wet easily and stayed wet. My new guinea-pig, Marmalade, has very sensitive skin on her feet and they went bright red when she was on the shavings so I tried the vetbed again and it has made her feet much better so I'm going to try to stick with the vetbed this time. I have a few sheets of newspaper underneath and I change the newspaper every day and change the vetbed every Wednesday and Saturday. Is there something more absorbant that I can put underneath it? Preferably something I wouldn't have to change daily because it's a bit of a nuiscance if I get home later in the evening after school and I have to change the bedding because it can take quite a long time.

You could use puppy training pads but it'd be expensive. Maybe old towels would work and you could just wash them

I think inco pads would be ideal for outdoors. Towels are more absorbant, but stay wet a long time. The inco pads are expensive but last a long time. I change the fleece twice before I change pads.

i use inco pads, they are great and really absorbant. I used to use puppy pads before but expensive and allot of waste. Before that i used towels but after 2 days this was really smelly.

Thank you for your replies :) I put towels in underneath before I checked here so I might take them out tommorow if they start to smell
