What to put in the carrier?

Good evening
What is the best thing to put on the floor of a carrier for collecting two new piggies?
They’re coming from and moving to wood shavings but it wasn’t sure about in between?
Are wood shavings OK or would an old towel be better?
I guess some hay to hide in / eat?

I travel with my piggies with a towel and hay in their carrier

Yes we have a layer of newspaper then an old towel then some hay, plus usually a chunk of cucumber or a few baby leaf salad leaves to keep them hydrated

2) Hay
3) A piece of cucumber, mainly for hydration.

Depending on the journey I either take cucumber or they get a handful of a favourite herb or leaf
