hi,

I've had my piggies for at least 4/5 months and when I clean them out I take them out of their hutch and put them in their run outside. However it's November now and it's getting far too cold to put them outside. Their hutch is in the garage but half of the garage is full of lots of stuff so can't put their run in there and can't put them inside as my dad is really allergic to any form of animal hair.. what should I do while I clean them out and to give them exercise?

Hey there, so there are two suggestions, and I do both really depending.

1. I shuffle them into the other side whilst i sweep out, then spray clean and dry off before putting in new bedding, then do the other side. Works pretty well and my lot are kinda used to this arrangement now.
2. Put them into a pet carrier...I've done this also when it's just not been possible...i.e. they are so dirty and need a super hot clean out. I put my carrier cases in the summer house as it's slightly cooler than the rest go the house and therefore it doesn't impact their body too much with the change in temperature. If I have de-camped them into the carrier case and it's outside, I've used a snuggle safe to sit on with a fleece cover of the pet carrier.

Either options works for me to be honest.

Mine stay in the hutch while I clean them out in the colder months. Today it was mild so I let them freeroam in the kitchen but that will probably be the last time until spring. I have a 2 storey 6 ft hutch so there is space for them to run around and I usually just block off the ramp while I do one floor to keep them out the way as Daisy will follow me around and try and eat the dustpan and brush :))

Do you have space for a puppy pen for them to go into for a run around in the garage?
