Hi, I'm would like to get a cc cage (so excited). But my question is; at the moment my normal cage sits on a large trunk the bottom and sides hang off the edges, but it's secure and is never a problem as it's a hard plastic bottom.

With correx does that support itself at all the way plastic does or would the grids fall of and the correx dip? I know you can get the cc cage stands but I really am not keen on the look of them (my pigs are on my living room).

I don't want to put the cc cage on the floor.

I hope my question makes sense!

Many Thanks
Naomi

my c and c 6x2 stacking cage is supported with grids and metal beams/rods.you can use tables.when ive sorted my piggie room,I'm going to get some ikea tables and have all c and c cages around the room at waist height.need to remove single bed and wardrobe. i can bring all of my piggies inside then.some are in a shed !have a look in the threads that are labelled c and c cages !

Makes perfect sense. How much overhang would you have? If it is more than a full grid either end, it might be an issue, but less than that should be fine. If you make a base using the grids, use cable ties as well as the connectors, which will make it stronger. You don't need this if it's on the floor.

Mine are on tables from ikea (got the idea feom wiebke).

The correx isnt as strong as plastic and would dip imo.

Mine is currently on a stand made of grids (also in my living room) but for a number f reasons I don't like this set up, and plan to switch to Ikea tables as soon as possible.

If you look closely at the bottom, you will see two white cable ties. These are linked to more grids that are attached to the other side. This stops them falling off the edge of the table.

I hope this helps :)

IMG_2354.webp Yes my 6x2 cages are on 6ft banquet tables And my cages have grids on the base. My lovely mother in law made me cute curtains for the bottom of the cage to hide the table and piggie supplies underneath. Lol

When I had a C&C cage, a 2x6 fit with a little bit of overhang on a 6ft banquet table. Like @Tim, I used extra grids underneath and cable ties to make sure everything stayed in place. I think @Julie M has/had the same set up.

Hi, ooo that's brilliant! I actually do have a 6ft banquet table in storage. Sorry this going to sound really stupid but with the cable ties did you reinforce each ford together? Is that what you meant?

Thank you so much!

Thanks everyone for your reply! It's really given me some ideas X.

I just used the cableties to hold the cage together with Mango and Mojitos cage. But if your using connectors too the cable ties just provide extra strength. By making sure connectors don't pop apart.
