I'm guessing nothing but both Monty and Melvin and Parsnip (not as much) are chewing the new run!

Monty is a terror for chewing - I know Its a natural thing with guineas but wish he would go for the chews Ive got in there:))

Ive got places for them to hide, a bed, tubes, hanging toys and nice wood chews Ive put there but no the run wood must taste the best!

I dont mind them chewing it as Its their run and hutch but just get worried they will get a splinter or something in their eye, have been sandpapering any chewed areas to smooth it down.

Might look to get one of those metal runs with a few boxes in and a cover - I never think they are as secure but I do supervise run time, never been able to look at those options in the past as our dog would of jumped on it so always had apex runs.

It would not hurt to have a 3rd run as Leo bunny has the one and the guineas take it in turns to use the 2nd run.

Does anyone elses guineas chew their runs?

Yes our two Netherland dwarf rabbits started doing it with their runs so my o/h put metal strips over the wood to stop them.:)

I have a metal run. For the most part mine behave and only chew on what they're supposed to. :))
