What size space do you have for floor time?

We have 3 guinea pigs in a c and c cage which they love. :) They currently have floor time in our hallway - it is a massive space that we block off each end. However, we are inheiriting a cat soon so are rethinking the space that they can play in, and changing their cage a little too. :... Was just wondering what sized space you gave your piggies - ours are in the living room and there is space in the room to play but not as much. ?/ Any thoughts gratefully received! :) px>>
 
We have 5 piggies in a 5 x 3 c&c with a upper level which is a 1 x 3 run that leads into a 2 x 2 hayloft. They have a door on the cage which is open whenever we're in so they have the run of the downstairs of the house as well ( our house is open plan ). Obviously we don't have any other pets though so we're able to let them have all this space

My girls have the run of my daughters bed room about 17x11 ft although there is furniture there they can run and play underneath but they tend to stay in an area about 6x6 ( very near their hutch)this tends to be where the blankets and boxes are. I imagine its a sercurity thing.
 
My four piggies usually live in a double 4' x 2' hutch and have and outdoor run which is approx 2 square metres.

They have recently moved indoors for Winter and currently live in an area which is just short of 3 x 3 C&C but also have the run of the living room most nights too.

We have two cats who are not interested in the pigs. Murdock has known the pigs since they were all tiny and will sometimes try to get in their pen for a nap, but scarpers when they head towards him. Oliver (a stray we have recently 'acquired') shows no interest in them at all and flew upstairs when Boris trotted over to check him out rolleyes
 
Had a look on elc site at ball pits and paddling pools and they have 20% off advertised!
