I hear over and over again that for 2 guinea pigs, an outdoor hutch must be at least 4ft long, 2ft deep which I agree with. :) However... does this apply to indoor cages too? I have looked on the indoor cage thread and not many of the cages are actually 4 foot long. 4ft is 120cm and many are only about 100cm. :red I need an indoor cage for Petal and a new friend but on ebay I cannot find a 4 foot one. All of them are too small. :( What size do I need because it seems that not everyone's is 4ft long? :) Thanks in advance.

I bought a 2nd hand ferplast 100 (I think?) it had a pink bottom.
It was quite big and had a set of steps up to a food platform so underneath that it doubled up as a hidy hole.
My friend has a 2 tier ferplast cage which is huge but I don't know if these are suitable for guinea pigs.
Sorry I can't be of more help but I'm sure someone will come along soon and fill you in.

If you look for a Nero 4 that is big enough. Also Zooplus and probably lots of other places have cages that are 122 cm long. xx

I have a ferplast 4ft x 2ft an a huge corner cage which is over 4 foot in width:))

Thank you. :) You have lucky piggies! x) That size would be perfect as long as it didn't have the stand. :)) The cage would be kept in my room which is a converted loft and where the cage needs to be kept, the roof isn't very high. :))

The skyline maxi went for too much money and I can't find another on ebay. 8... I might just order one from the site if I can't find any better cages. :)

I have a single boy in a 100cm cage. It is not ideal even with floortime every day. I would not have 2 pigs in it. The extra room in a 120cm cage makes a huge difference.

Perhaps if you have relatives who don't know what to get you for Christmas, you could ask for money towards a new cage.
:)

I currently have a Rabbit 100 which is 95x57x40cm for my two sows however I am planning/hoping to get the Ferplast rabbit 120 which would be an ideal size :)

What about a C and C cage mine is 2, 4 and half foot by 2 and half foot plus 2 and half foot kitchen cage's normally like this

I only have 5 piggies tho and there is much more space than they need you could have a 2x4 for 2 piggies and cost £15 to £26 for the grid's and around£10 to £12 for correx

I just made my first c & c cage, its great, i find it really accessible for getting them out, cleaning etc. You can buy a pack of 16 grids with connectors on Ebay for about £22 with postage and you can get Correx from estate agents for sale boards if you ask them they may give you the old ones or you can buy it online.
I find the C & C cage so much easier than a normal cage, its good for introductions too, mine didnt see eye to eye so i was able to put some of the grids down the middle to seperate but can still be close.
