will be getting shop/online cages not c&c as have cats and a dog
just trying to work out what combinations we can use for when our castrated boys can go with some girls
thanks :)

was thinking 150 for 3 just wanted to check
where can you get 160 from i like the sound of that one :))

i like the price on lovepets
will keep that one in mind i think
i was going to order 2 liberta 150 cages from ebay at 85 each from lancashire as travelling up that way in sep so made sense

For the price, you can probably hire a carpenter to build you a stacked cage for all four groups.

You could build a closed C&C. I'll probably won't keep more than 2 pigs in the 12 sq.ft cage (the Ferplast 160). A 2x6 C&C is recommended for 4 pigs, and it's 15.75 sq.ft.

Ferplast cage sizes

For 4 pigs 1.2 sq m is the minimum , the 160 provides that
For 3 pigs the minimum is 1 sq m the 140 provides that
For 2 pigs the minimum is 0.7sq m the 120 provides that

So its personal choice really as the cages provide the minimums. I keep 2 boars in a 140 and its huge for them. I keep 3 sows in a space the same size as a 140 and its fine for them too they have loads of room they dont even seem to use it all. The 120 is promoted around here for 2 pigs so using the same logic the 140 and 160 are adequate. Of course larger is always better but commercial cages are better and stronger than c&c IMHO.

How about hutches? You can paint them (or not) and line with correx.

This one has 3 levels. 12.5 sq.ft on each level. This would be fine for the group of 3.

SPECIAL OFFER!
p1- Triple Grand Villa Breeder Jumbo Sized Hutch 2ft Deep With Added Height
77" x 25" x 68"
£299.99

For the group of 4, you could house them in the exercise run. Add correx as a base.

SPECIAL OFFER!
Exercise Run
72" x 36"
£59.99

This would save you money from buying 4 smaller cages.

For 4 Ferplast 160 cages at £147.00 would be £588

With the combo above, it would be £359.98

Thats an idea of what they can look like, though I prefer pens and cages for ventilation and hygiene reasons. My piggies and rabbit (adopted as a goup) lived in this outside, I took it inside scrubbed and painted it and this is the result. It is now empty but I am going to take it upstairs to my animal room and put my rabbit in it as her base as she is litter trained so hygiene isnt much of an issue (it has a correx base but I dont like how enclosed it is really)

that looks pretty good
i have now ticked off the combination for 4 sows, took one sow in as it was left from a litter at only 9 weeks pah said she should live alone, tried her today with my girl trio(mum and 2 daughters) all went well until they went in a cage and the bossy girl(one daughter) was chasing her about so much so i took her out and put her in another temp cage with the girl she liked best as she kept running to her and hding behind her, so hoping this will work

You'll have a hard time getting a 160. They sometimes appear on ebay or you could special order through a pet shop but they are super expensive.

I was amazed that Marisota sell cages, albeit very expensive!

That second link is an absolute bargain, though....I just wished I had space for another cage-full of piggles! x

I was surprised to find it in a catalogue! I just googled the cage and linked to the shops I found that sold it! :-)
