I have plans to start building a c&c cage, but am unsure what the minimum size would be to house three boars. A 3x3 would fit nicely on the card table I use for their current home, and then make a 2nd level eiter along one or two sides. Or should I start looking for another table lol.

Hi!

If your trio of boys is all subadult, you are very likely facing a separation/split at some point, so you have to take that into account that you may want to plan for a cage that could be divided up in some way.

If your boys are adult, then a 3x3 cage is just at the minimum recommended space; 2x5 or preferably 2x6 grids would be better if you had the space. You may want to test whether you can reach 3 grids deep over a 14 in high obstacle for cleaning. I find that I can just about reach to the other side of a 2 grid deep C&C table cage.

They are all 3 years old, so hopefully past that point but I will keep that in mind! I will try the 3x3 for now seeing as it's somewhat acceptable until I find a bigger table to make a more appropriately sized one. Thank you for the quick response!

Your three boys should be OK at that age; boars thankfully generally mellow as they get older! What you have to brace yourself for (and what can cause the occasional fall-out in a bonded adult pair/trio) is that any new territory will require a fresh hierarchy sort-out with the assorted dominance behaviour.

If you are going for a very small ground space, I would recommend you to give your boys plenty of hay loft space with two ramps, so access can't blocked.
