What metarial is best to use for the bottom of a home made cage?

Morning ladies, I thinking if making my girls a new indoor house, is the base better been plastic or wood?
Were could I get a large pastic base from?
Were is the best place to buy the grids?

plastic will be easier to clean.

I know b&q and wicks do the grids (or they use too last time i checked) You can get them on ebay and amazon too.

As for the plastic, most people use coroplast which i think you can get from places that make signs etc.
