The dead hair that comes off Toby & George while I’m brushing them always has black dots in them. They could be little specs of dirt or mud because they do go in the garden and always get their hair at the back dirty. Is it normal for guinea pigs to get this? Please let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Black specks in the hair (usually at the back end although in advanced cases it can be everywhere) can be a sign that they have mites - black specks being the empty egg casings. Such an issue would require a vet diagnosis and prescribed treatment.
