Q

QueeniePig

Tom and jerry have been with us for 6 days now and since day 2 we bring them out to either have floor time in the kitchen or cuddle time. I bought them cuddle pockets yesterday and brought them down for cuddle time earlier Tom stopped snuggling into the corner and turned as if to come out of the pocket his nose was vibrating as if he was doing something with his teeth whilst looking at me i stoked his nose and he just kept doing it - he didnt show his teeth so could he just have been sniffing like mad or was it teeth chattering? Poor jerry just freezes and wont move bless him!

The above link has different sounds piggies can make, teeth chattering is there! I absolutely detest the noise of Chattering pigs.

I once had the misfortune of hearing the deafening chatter before a pig pounces, never do I wish to hear it again.

Bette has a mild chatter at Milo, as she is still reminding him she is in charge and if Milo is feeling brave he has a little chatter back!

Chattering is a warning noise. I get warned regularly by Bette when I'm late with her veg she is one cheeky lady!

Thanks for that - he didnt make any noise with it so hopefully he was just sniffing stongly. If he comes out of his pocket onto my lap do you think he is warming to me - i didnt let him come out in case he tried to jump off my lap!

Yes, I think he was most likely having a good sniff about, also pigs always have a mouth full of food! Quite often I think my pigs are chattering but they are just grinding the food they have in there mouth.

The fact he is exploring more, tells me he is settling rightly and starting to trust you.

When I first got my boy Fred, he would either hide or freeze. A year on he can't sit still he's far too sure of himself now :))!
