Hi, my guinea pig lost his brother last summer and after my last post I have decided to get him neutered and get him a girlfriend so that he has company. So, while I'm getting him neutered I'm also going to get him a bigger hutch so that him and his girlfriend have lots of room (note I do not have the new guinea pig yet, I am going to wait 6 weeks after he has been neutered, don't want any accidents now :)) ) So I am really excited about getting another guinea pig, but until then I want to know what hutch you think would be best.

This hutch is the most expensive and I could not afford to go any higher, this is my absolute limit, my twin sister would kill me if I went any higher considering we are going halfs on that cost of the hutch. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/tulip-cottage-hutch-and-run-by-pets-at-home-83751

This is the cheaper hutch which I also really like. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-6-Meter...t=UK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry&hash=item4cff469520

I like him having a run, but I can add an extra run onto the P@H cage (built by my wonderful dad), which is what we did last time. Anyway, all opinions welcome. Sorry for such a long post rolleyes

Hi there tigerlily, i really love the Tulip Cottage Hutch and Run, the first addy you put up it looks cool infact i just may save up and buy one to :)

I prefer the pets at home hutch it looks more covered up and weather friendly

I rather like the first one. The second has a pretty small indoor area, only 80cm long, which the piggies would be pretty much stuck in if the weather was bad. When I was getting my first piggies I was advised that they should not be able to access the run if it was raining, I don't know what anyone else thinks about this?

Thank you everyone, I like the tulip one too, and my loving dad can build a run to go on in the summer to give them more room. Thank you for your opinions.

Surely if it was raining the piggies wouldnt go outside anyway. i like the idea that they can get out for fresh air when they need it after all it could stop raining and come out real sunny and warm, but if i'm at work they would be stuck indoors all day, not nice for them. Just my view.

My mum is afraid of small animals so they aren't kept in the house, but they are definately sheltered from the rain (used to be in our out house, but then we couldnt use that, so they were kept in the summer house, but now that is full with my nana's things, but next winter they are being kept indoors (or atleast they are meant to). My lovely nan who I see everyday has agreed to keep them at her house during the winter, she didnt seem to mind the idea of keeping them inside the house, but if for some reason they couldnt stay in the house then she has an unused garage. But in two years time I'll have a place of my own for them to stay in during the winter and go out during the summer :D .
