What Hay Rack Do You Use?

I was wondering what hay racks are safe to use, and which aren't, because I'm thinking about getting guinea pigs, and i want a good hay rack. I also have another question. Is it okay to not use a hay rack? can you just put the hay on the floor? thanks

All my hay is on the floor! Probably quite wastefull but if it's not eaten it gets put in the 'bed rooms'

My hay is in litter trays.The only thing you have to watch is if you are feeding coarse hay they could get hay pokes

I don't use hay racks any more . I use hay trays . Some members use hay bags ...

Another good idea is to cut holes in a cardboard box .... just like Adelle has done for her Guinea Pigs to forage...

I have a basic hay rack, 2 hay trays and often stuff toilet roll tubes and various grass toys with hay which they love. I'm not a massive fan of just putting it on the floor as they soil it... A lot! Even in their hay trays. At least they have the option of clean and dirty hay haha. I use two types, meadow for the hay trays and Timothy for hay rack and toys, and now and then Friendly Readigrass. I'm hoping to get a stand alone hay rack/manger type to see what that's like so they have plenty of options.

Right now Bella is hiding under and eating a bit pile of possibly soiled hay in their tray... Gross!
