During lap time Ruby tends to bounce around, clambering all over the sofa, going from person to person.
She is our most friendly and bold piggie, and also the most lively!
She isn't a huge fan of long cuddles, but sometime she will clamber into my daughters arms and settle there, and then make a strange noise.
It usually happens when my daughter is already holding one of our other pigs in her arms, and Ruby will clamber over the other pig and lay on top of them (such a little lady!).
The noise sounds pretty grumpy and annoyed, and it really worries my daughter.
Ruby is always there of her own choosing, and always free to leave.
But I promised the 10 year old I would post a video and ask the experts, because she just wants her guinea pig to be happy

She sounds a bit apprehensive and not quite happy with either finding the spot occupied or having to share it with a human, but I am sure that she will settle over time and become more confident with the procedure.

She is a vocal piggy, so while she is young, you'll know exactly how she is feeling all the time! However, as long as she is chattering away, you need not worry; this is not serious! In fact, this is a very good sign that she is not bothered by you humans and is grumbling away.

In my experience all piggies have slightly different chatter noises except the universal wheek for veggies. Most sounds have to be interpreted in the light of the body language. But that's a noise I associate with mild irritation or grumbling. It gets a bit more grouchy at one point in the clip. To me, and In view of what you've said, it sounds like she's mumbling away about someone else having been cuddled and is making sure she gets her go! It's certainly not an unhappy sound. Just sounds like typical sow mumbling and muttering.
