My 2 new boys had a nice run out on the grass today.

When we put them back in the hutch, one of them ran round doing little 'skips'/jumps!? This went on for a minute or so until he settled down to eat. The other one just ignored him lol!

What does this mean?

Popcorning

It means they are happy - its called popcorning - cos its like when you put corn kernals in a pan & heat them up to make pop corn - all my piggies go up vertically like little harrier jump jets - its a great sign .:))

It's called 'popcorning', and it means excitement, joyfulness.

I suggest you take a look on the forum here to learn more about them, it's full of a wide variety of knowledge and personal experiences, much more informative than your basic pig book, vet or pet store.

Awww that's good to know :) Have only had them since Sunday so that's lovely to hear. Hope to see lots more popping!
Thanks

Popcorning is such a wonderful thing to see:') My one does in up and down the run always when the dog goes up to him! Must get him abit excited:)p Then my other does it in the hutch sometimes. It's great!drool

When I first saw it happen to mine I was very concerned and thought they were having a fit until I was told it's because they feel happy. They do it when they get new toys, when they've been let out in the run, and when my dogs go near them!
