I will be using the hayloft as a hay area / sleeping area and was thinking of newspaper and hay or newspaper, equisorb and hay?

For the bottom area i will be using inco pads and fleece and it will be used for food and vegetables and their cosies will be underneath the hayloft covered bit.

I dont think an inco pad on top of hay would work or fleece on hay, as I'm assuming it may smell?:{

I got them off amazon on the end.

Here is the link for you. [ame]http://www.amazon.co.uk/Washable-Absorbent-Bed-90cms-Wings/dp/B000MES1W8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1265048247&sr=8-3[/ame]

They are a little cheaper on ebay but the delivery was more for 4 and on amazon it was £5 no matter how many you order.

I just have newspaper in my hay bucket makes it easy to roll up and throw i the bin

I have newspaper and hay in mine. I have to say they do track it down onto the fleece but it's easy enough to sweep out the way every day. I also change it every day by rolling it up, quick sweep and clean and fresh back down.

I have also got 2 of those inco pads coming to compare them to my ebay ones - hope they are good.

Okay they just arrived. The ebay ones and the amazon ones are exactly the same. Same brand same product same thing.

What are the inco pads made from/feel like? I've always wondered about swapping from shavings with a thick layer of hay on top. It always seems a bit messy and I'd prefer to swap to towels or other materials. How often do they need swapping? How do you clean them? Do they need to be machine washed and dried every time, does this cost alot to do so much washing.
I'll have my three piggies on 18sq foot in a few wheeks, how often would they need swapping/washing/cleaning? How do you 'spot clean'?
Thanks
