image.webp image.webp image.webp I finally expanded to a 4x4 C&C for my pair! Super excited, I just put them in and they seem to love the extra room. I took out my loft since they hated it and now it's all one level. I'm even seeing POPCORNING! I'm really excited about that since they've never done that before! Anyway, what do you think of it? I used the special ramp grid as an entrance to the kitchen area, which seems a lot tidier now that it's all contained.

That looks really good, I would fill the area where the hay is right up with hay then they can burrow in it. That way they have the best of both worlds.

That looks great! What's the cage sat on? I'm still looking for ways to get one of ours off of the floor.

Oh that's superb, I can imagine them doing zoomies upon zoomies round there :) I bet they love it, loads of room and those tents look great :)
May I be cheeky and ask how wide those tubes are? I ask because I imagine if mine were to dive into them all but one would get stuck, but I do have a Teddy and a Swiss (fairly large breeds) and a boar who probably isn't portly but is very solid and 'cobby'. It's not a criticism, your set-up is great and those are two lucky piggies you have. Most can only dream of so much room! I am just a bit afraid they may get stuck one day, but as I say, it's probably because I have porkers for piggies!

I think it's fantastic ! There's nothing better than seeing popcorning! Like Critter, the tunnels wouldn't be big enough for my guinea pigs -but this is the great thing about doing a bespoke set up. I love it.

Thanks everyone! I love the idea of filling the kitchen with hay, I'm just worried it'll spill out the sides. Any experience with this?

The PVC is 4". They don't use it often but they are American guinea pigs so they seem to fit fine. The 5" scared them for some reason.

The cage is on a custom stand I built. It took several two by fours, 1/2 plywood, screws, and paint. It's 2' off the ground, which is perfect for storage to fit underneath, and is the exact size of a 4x4 plus the 1" or so added for the connectors. Then I put trim on the top edge to keep the cage from slipping around.

It may fall out a bit but I just hoover round the edges. The correx should help hold it in to some extent.

You may get a bit of hay spilling over - one of the joys of having piggies

:DThat is just fab! No wonder the girls are so happy, with all that space to themselves! :yahoo: I love the little kitchen area! I wonder if I could do something like that? Hmmmmmm:hmm:

Hay all over the top of the girls cage, they are messy little girls hehe. I've actually been thinking about a kitchen bit as well lol.

Does anyone have suggestions for no-sew cuddle cups or snuggies? Mine don't like open beds and I can't sew to save my life

Have you tried bending a c&c grid in half, and covering it in fleece? It looks like a half tunnel sort thing.
