I have a nail clipper and my mom does the clipping while I hold the pigs (one at a time) but there was not much to trim off and their nails (especially Buttercup's nails) are REALLY sharp even after trimming. I have scratches on me where their claws have touched. I mean their like needle sharp. Truffles I don;t think her nails are too bad but Buttercup her nails hurt! I guess her nails are just naturally sharp. :o Maybe when they grow out some more then the next time they get their nails trimmed it won;t be as sharp and pointy? Any feedback on this one? I might have to wear something over my clothes to keep their nails from scratching my arms and neck.

Hm, if they are still sharp after trimming, then the only thing I can think of is to have long sleeves on when holding the piggy and put it always on a thick towel.
Hope that helps.

Hello

Are they babies? Young pigs do seem to have sharp nails (like puppies!) until they grow enough to have the ends taken off - for at least the first few months (4-6 months, I've found with mine). If there's not enough to clip, could you file the ends down a bit, just the points? Or let them run on concrete for a bit to wear them down a little?

If not then yes - gloves!

Good luck

No they are not babies- they are both a year old. For the meantime, I will try to have a towel with me not only cause of their nails but because if they need to pee I have a towel under them. The weather here is too hot to wear long sleeves it is like 80-90 degrees F and it is expected to get to at least 100 degrees by the time summer kicks in. But anyway, got off topic , I will figure something out maybe put a towel over ME to help keep scratches down to a minimum.

Let them run around on concrete or bricks for a little while and that'll just wear down the sharp tips. Alternatively you could use an emery board (definitely NOT a metal nail file) and just gently take the tips off.
