I saw this online today when I was hunting for a new hutch for Lennie and (soon hopefully) new friend. I thought it was bizzare looking and not very spacious and £320 for the eglu and a run! Has anyone got one? What are your views? My name is Fiona by the way and I am a newbie to this forum and a newbie to piggies, having just adopted Lennie...Thats him hiding! 0:)

I think she means in her avatar ;)
I personally think that eglus where made to attract people - not fir the comfort of animals. You can get muchlarger and more appropriat eaccomodation for less money.
And welcome! :)

>:( >:( >:( >:( Hate them, made of plastic, hot in summer, cold in winter. Not right for any animal, sorry >:( >:( >:( >:(

would they be ok for use as a run in summer ? i was thinking of trying to pick up a second hand one for this and get a rabbit 150 for indoors where the two girls will live. hopefully the 150 will be big enough for daytime when they are not in the run. ie when i am at work! the we can put them in the run for exercise in the evening and at weekends? i think the cage they are in ATM 4 foot by 2 foot will be too small when they are fully grown. ?/

My God I thought Fi had lost the plot then and was telling us all her name! Then I looked at the date! :(|)

4x2 is a requirement for 2 pigs but I think the Eglu is too hot for summer use as it does get hot in them.

Don't they look the business - shame they aren't any good!

They look so swanky but when you can get a 6 by 2 hutch with a 6 by 4 run for £129.... £320 seems an awful lot for a sweat box and a run :)) Really not a fan of eglus

and ummm my name is Vikki :))

Hehe, I think it looks cool! Haven't had any experience with them, sorry.

They look jazzy but aren't suitable for animals prone to heat stroke they are like ovens. I wouldn't have thought they would be very good security wise either. :)

Actually it looks a bit small doesn't it? It's cool but I guess there are better alternatives :) It's good how it has the anti-tunnelling thing though.

Guinea pigs don't tend to tunnel, so would say that was a wasted feature!

My friend has one for her chickens, 3 of them , it's alot more spacious than it looks in the photos, they are very sturdy and fox proof, they do get quite warm though, but also very snuggly in the winter as they are insulated.
