Hi all,Many of you will of read my topic i did in health and illineses about my to boys not getting on togather!the only thing we can think of is getting chestnut castrated and putting him with our girls and maybe getting rid of bandit but their are risks :'( of losing chestnut which we do not want but we also dont want to lose bandit! What can we do ?we`ve tryed to put them back today but it did not work so we will try again in a few days time in a area that both do not know!

sorry to hear they are not getting along. We have three boars two are very dominant and one is really chilled out and they all live separately. We have tried housing each other, mixing them about and we just tried them together tonight, but all hell broke out, so my three will be living separately - its not nice and upsetting, but they seem happy on their own, though I think Louis missing bullying someone! We have four babies which need to be split next weekend, but to be honest I don't think two of our bigger boys are suitable to live with anyone, they are just too bullish. We even try putting the two who did live together for a few months, in the run, but again tonight Louis is just constantly bullying Charlie and he's such a sweet boy he wants some peace! Hope you sort something out x

Have they actually started fighting or is it just rumbling and the odd snipe? Lots of space may help with boys as they get on each others wick if too confined. With Spring coming and the hormones racing it may get worse before it gets better - some people say that the pheromone sprays are good, I think I'm going to try and get one. GPQ posted a link to a cat DAP I'm not sure if its the same thing (probably is, but will have to check with the vet) but I'll try and find the link. Have you got two of everything, water bottles, toys, hidey holes, food bowls etc?

Edited to add GPQ's link - 3rd and 4th items down the page http://www.petvetcare.co.uk/acatalog/Feliway.html

yep i have two of everthing and yest it was fighting as bandit was pinning chestnut dowb and biting his bum which why we seperated them.and thanks for the link! :)

Oh dear doesn't sound good i think maybe they should be separated.... try keeping them close but not in same cage or divide the cage and then try them together at a supervised floor time.
This is what we had to do, they couldn't live together but adored being together at floor time :smitten: :smitten: ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D You know they spent most of their time at the wire divider chatting away happily, i'd lift the divider Duke would race into Sully's area swaying his butt and doing the growling thing and they'd sort of snap at each other ::) Duke would then busy himself checking out Sully's scent ::) and Sully would go find Duke's left over food ::)
Good luck love O0 :smitten: :smitten:
