I fed my piggles this morning, they were all fine, then about half an hour ago I started to "tidy up" their cage & replace hay etc, when their behaviour really spooked me :( They are acting really weird, they are just staring at me as if I am the mad axe murderer & then the young ones both made funny grunting noises which they've never done before, now I'm worried! It was a low noise, almost sounded like they have the start of a URI, Mummy pig is silent though :{ They are now eating, have had their tea, chewing boxes etc, there is no sound of breathing problems when I hold them to my ear so what can it be?

It sounds like they were scared by you touching their cage. Do not forget it is their home and you are a giant to them. They were just warning you off as they cannot understand you are trying to clean their home.

Sounds like the noise they make when they are worried or scared...
Cam sound similar to breathing problems... But will obviously stop when the stress is gone...
They are prey animals so will freeze frame... :))
Don't worrie... They are perfectly normal...

Oh dear it is worrying, they've never done it before :( They are still just lying there watching me, 3 pairs of beady accusing eyes rolleyes

They did eventually come up to me to take food from my hand, but are still pretty quiet :(

Aww, sure/hope its nothing! Sounds like they were just having a funny moment :) they do make you worry though!

Just to let you know everyone is back to normal today, wheeking for brekkie, taking food from my hand etc. No idea what the noise was or what caused it, but they were obviously spooked by something last night. I wish I'd videoed it really as it could be a useful reference for anyone else in the future in understanding piggy behaviour! I wonder if it was a "herd" thing as we've only had pairs before?
