What Age Would Bond Best With A 2-3ish Year Old Sow?

I am looking to get a new G pig for my now lonely Sow she is 2 or 3 years old.
 
It's more of a compatibility thing than age but a neutered male from about 1 year old up or a female of any age. I read your other thread & I'm very sorry about you losing your other piggy. Do you have a rescue near you. There is a rescue locator at top of this page.
 
You can look at any age, sows or neutered boars. The key point is mutual sympathy rather than age.
I have had success with piggies of either gender, but I have always let the piggy choose for a happy relationship. Some sows can be a lot pickier than others!
 
Ok, thanks my sow seams to get along with everyone. She got along with a really shy piggie and a really bossy Piggie :-)
 
Age is just a number lol, personality is far more important than age. Ideally you could do with visiting a reputable rescue they are experienced in bonding and will be able to find you a piggie that will get on well with your sow. if you live in england there is a locator at the top you can use to find your nearest one.

its not a simple as just putting two pigs together of right age or sex some pigs just "clash" so it is better to go somewhere where you can be told which pigs are mostly likely to get on with yours. Where abouts are you?
 
I live in the US But there is a Animal shelter that normally has a piggie or two,
 
If it is hard to find a shelter and pets shops are your only option,I would go for a very young girl. You may have to use your detective skills a little I would go for one that seems to be at bottom of the group in shop. It may take you a few visits to determine but you can usually pick out top sow at least. I would avoid her personally.
 
I have a friend who's G pig just had a litter a week ago, I think I'll ask her if she is going to sell them

UIf she is i would ask her to keep and eye out for the undersow for you. It may also be wirth taking your girl along and doing a mini bonding sessoon on neutral ground to make sure she's compatible before you take a new one hone and fall in love with it x
 
Hey Does it matter the breed, she is a Abyssinian but I might get a teddy
