Pebbles and Brownie. I thought about adopt from a shelter before I even got my first 2, but the closest one that has pigs is 2,5-3 hours away so I went to the petstore.

Anyway, I had Wilma and Betty for a little over 4 weeks and they get along fine for the most part, except Betty is shutting Wilma out of the igloo.

Today I got a new cage for the new girls, we are building a c&c cage for them soon, was even gonna buy the coroplast today but it couldnt fit in the car..

So while I was cleaning Betty&Wilmas cage, I put all of them in the new cage after letting them sniff each other since I figured it was a neutral ground for now.

Betty and Wilma was nice to the new girls BUT suddenly Betty chases around Wilma like CRAZY and even pulled some hair from her!

So I put them back in their own cage and now they are fine. Why did they do this?

Anyway, the new girls are so cute and nice. But Brownie weeks everytime I touch or pet her..why? Betty&Wilma hardly ever weeks, Betty NEVER, Wilma when she gets food.

Pebbles weeks when I lift her up but Brownie constantly!

When can I all put them together in the big c&c cage? It will be pretty big..2 grids wide and I think 6-8 grids long. So pretty big.

As I am typing Brownie is sitting on my shoulder and seem pretty content. She is a baby and Pebbles too. 6 weeks.

They are so different from Wilma&Betty. I can put Wilma and Betty down on a blanket and they stay put..they did this from the day I got them but Brownie and Pebbles really runs off...!

Brownie is simply completely freaked out by now. Give your new piggies time to settle and getting used to you first - quite a few young piggies cry at first, especially, if they have hardly ever been handled before. You are a big smelly predator in their eyes!

Wait until you've got a bigger cage - for introducing four guinea pigs you want lots of space! I used part of the hall for my last introduction which I lined with cheap towels. This part of the space:

Before you try anything else, let your piggies calm down and get their bearings first - they can't cope with everything at once!

Thank you!

But I am worried about Wilma and Betty. Why would Betty bite Wima so hard and pull her hair off when all 4 of them were together?

So when Brownie screams she's actually crying? Awwwwww...I love them so much..they are adorable.

I think Pebbles might have a tired eye. She likes to half close one of her eyes.

Do you think all 4 of them will be fine eventually? I am just worried about Betty and Wilma. I don't want them to fight. I thought they would pick on the new girls, not each other..

The addition of new piggies upsets the status of the group, Betty is obviously the top pig & was showing Wilma that she still is eventho' 2 new pigs have arrived. It can look far worse that it actually is & given enough space they can all live happily together, make sure each piggy has a hidey each & there are enough bowls, water bottles & hay racks if you use them. This gives them less room for arguments :)

Regarding Pebbles eye, she shouldn't be half closing one eye. It could be an injury, is it weeping or is there any discolouration to the eyeball itself?

Regarding Pebbles eye, no running, no discoloration, she just looks tired.

I let all the girls in their big playpen today to get to know each other a little. First when I did it in the cage, there was a fight as mentioned. However, having them in the playpen helped.

Betty teeth chattered ALOT, something I never ever seen her or Wilma do before. Wilma did a little too. I gave Betty a little flick on the nose after she bit Wilma and tried to go after Brownie, that now might be Cocoa. Not hard, but so that she understands when I say no. I hope that is not bad.

Anyway, in the playpen a lot of teeth chattering was going on with Betty, a little bit with Wilma, but Wilma was mostly interested in chewing the bars.

They sniffed the little ones and it was fine except the teeth.

However, Pebbles got picked a lot on in the store, so she was mostly sitting in a corner and looking depressed. I am a little bit worried about her.

Do you think all of my girls will be okay together? I really hope they will.

Wilma and Betty enjoys each other company otherwise so I cannot understand why Betty tried to go for Wilma..Makes me sad.

Have you kept them all in together now?

It can be done with excellent results provided you introduce them and then don't seperate and then re-introduce and so on.

No they are not together yet. They have 2 cages that stand beside each other.
I will try to do this for maybe a week before I put them all in together.
Coco and Pebbles needs to figure out their place too. I suspect Coco is being mean to Pebbles. Dunno what to do. Feels like she's getting picked on by everyone =(

And I am still sad that Betty blocks Wilma from the Igloo. My poor little girl.

Well good luck for when they are all in a big cage. The sound of the size you have in mind seems perfect. Do get alot of igloo's / hideys for them and the type of set up that weibke has there in that photo is brilliant for introductions.

Let us know how you get on
