Well Finally Changed From Bedding To Fleece

I finally decided to go for it. Its been a week and I'm loving it. The only con so far is having to scoop out the poop daily lol but other than that its perfect!

and i know i know, i need to get me some fancier fleece lol but I'm getting there.

The piggies love it as well, as you can see Lucas decided to make the kitchen area his bed.

and it was the first time i saw Elvis pop-corning he is very shy and usually stays in his hiding place but as soon as i put the fleece in there he started running around pop corning super cute

i also have to cut the fleece to fit the exact size of the cage, i tried cutting one side but it started to come apart so i left it that way

Fantastic! They do really like it. My boar Treacle rarely popcorns but he got excited when I put in a new fleece tunnel recently and he was popcorning, really heartening to see.

I would not cut the exact size... you can use it as if it were a bedlinen on a mattress. I am not able to explain with words, I upload some pics of my cage:

under the fleece there is the absorbent layer made of newspapers/leaflets

and under the newspapers there are some old towels, just for having a thicker and softer floor


once a day a remove the fleece and the leftovers and I change wet papers with new ones (the wee is often in the same point and most of papers are dry and never removed. Once a week I wash the fleece.

Your cage looks great, I love the kitchen area, a pile of hay on the litter would make a very comfy bed.
Fleece often shrinks in the wash so I wouldn't cut it to exact size to start with just in case.

Thank you everyone! and yes I'm definitely getting some snuggle sacks! i found this couch/mattress cover on the dollar store by my house and its an awesome absorbent layer. It has been working great. Ill check out CrunchiesCosies thanks Betsy
