Welcoming My New Piggie! Proper Size?

hello all! i just got my little boy caramel a friend! his name is chocolate and i'll be posting pictures later.

my question is, i have the midwest 8 sq ft cage. i work today and tomorrow and can't be around for bonding (plus, chocolate has to settle in for 24-48 hours).

is this good enough for in the mean time? i just put in the divider, as you can see and put in two of everything, one on each side. (sorry about the cover, i have it on because my dog was in there with me)



give me any advice you have! i'll start bonding them most likely on monday.

Try and stay positive and worry about circumstances if they don’t bond but it is more likely that they will

is it usually more likely that two guinea pigs bond than not? i've heard yes and no.

some people have told me it's more likely that they wont bond at all.

Hi, have you read the bonding guides on this site? They are really really helpful.
Lots of people here have successfully bonded piggies. From personal experience I think it’s important to have plenty of space, do the introductions on neutral ground, give them hides and a pile of food to distract them. Do all this when you have plenty of time, so they have all day to get started.
I’m sure it will go well and good luck.
