Hi fellow cavy lovers! I am celebrating the addition to a sweet baby girl, and wanted to share her adorable face with you all <3

I fell victim, and adopted her from a pet store, (for shame, I know,) but I could hardly resist. I haven’t a clue what her mix is, but she seems to have a bit of rex in her blood, considering the course coat and curled whiskers!

I am adding her to a pair of sows, my beloved Maisy girl and my sweet skinny pig Moose, who have been doing very well together. During their introduction, Maisy (who is the alpha,) seemed to care less about the little rex, after sniffing her a few times. Moose did the same, and has huddled with her in their hay hut a bit since they’ve been together. My new baby seems just terrified, and has stayed in hiding all night, while the other two girls are foraging and playing. Should I be worried about her being discluded, or is this simply normal adjusting behavior? She also seems unusually small to have been up for sale at a store. Breaks my heart.

I read our pinned discussion on pairs/trios/quartets, but I’m quite nervous for my new addition. xoxo :)

Oh my she is a very pretty new addition indeed! :) I would not worry too much at this point- she is most likely still scared. Infact I'm sure the new friends will bring he out of her shell :) my newest boy Steve could fit in my palm when I got him and he was 5/6 weeks.
