Do you have boars or sows? In this case, gender specific aspects could play a role in the interpretation.

In this case, if it is dried hard, it could be some semen fluid (we call it 'boar glue' as this is a rather too accurate description) wiped across the bedding together with some muck from the anal sac. If it is soft, it is likely coming from what is accumulating in the anal sac.
Please accept that we can only guess.

It may be worth a vet check if you see loads of the white stuff in the anal sac (potential candida, i.e. fungal) and get more smears but it is not an emergency or anything that is not fairly straightforward to treat with the correct meds if your vet diagnoses it.

i found about a q tips worth of white stuff in the sac that i just scooped out. you think thats too much?

Sometimes my old boy gets a bit of a build up and as long as he's pooping fine and eating fine I don't worry to much about it. If it happens I see quite a bit of white for a couple of days and then don't see anything for a while so for us it is something that passes. I use a cotton wool pad (like a skin cleansing pad) dipped in warm water to just swab over his behind, then I dab him dry. I can't imagine George's face if I tried to go in with a q-tip!
