Hi everyone 👋🏻

My piggy’s been looking like she has gas in her belly. She started making noises while trying to poop last night. I gave her a medicine to release (or reduce; I don’t know) the gas in her body. However, she pooped a minute ago, and they look like they are not completely formed and covered with a transparent mucus.
She's eating well, but she looks tired today.

She has a thick bladder wall. She had surgery 17 days ago. They washed her bladder. She had gas after the operation, but I've seen nothing like this.
What is this mean? Did somebody face something like this before?

My initial thought would be a gut disturbance.
What medicine did you give her for gas? Was it vet prescribed?
Take her off of all fresh veg, only feeding her hay and pellets, as that will help stabilise her gut.
It would also be wise to weigh her daily to ensure she is eating enough hay and to step in with syringe feeding if there are any problems with her not eating enough, and speak to your vet

Hi!

I would strongly recommend to contact your vet over the ongoing gassing problem as a post-op complication.

Does you girl have a healthy companion? In addition to gut stimulants and probably painkillers she can do with a course of 'poo soup', i.e. live transfer of healthy gut microbiome, which when made properly is much more effective than any probiotic powder.

Please keep on weighing daily to monitor the food intake. Keep in mind that unlimited hay makes about 80% of the daily food intake and is crucial in keeping the gut balancd. You cannot control this by eye.

@Piggies&buns Yes, it's vet prescribed. I'll call her vet first thing in the morning. Thank you!

@Wiebke She doesn't have a friend :(. I'll make sure she eats her hay well. Thank you!

Here is our bloating information, which may help you with your vet: Digestive Disorders: Diarrhea - Bloat - GI Stasis (No Gut Movement) And Not Eating

Make sure that she is hydrated, especially in any hot weather but never force more water down her than she is willing to drink from a syringe.

Thank you so much, I read the article.
The medicine that her vet gave after the surgery has simethicone in it. It did work last week, but this time looks more serious.
She is eating her hay and drinking her water, but she can’t poop every time she tries. Ah, my poor baby :(.

Hi

So, I called our vet this morning, but she doesn't think there is a problem. I took my baby to another vet. She urinated on the examination table. They took a sample of her urine, and they said she has 2 different types of bacteria in her urine and lots of lots of it. They want to take a sterile sample to send it to the lab for urinalysis and urine culture.

Hello everyone!

my piggy can poop but her belly is still swollen. I’m giving her gas medication, but it just helps her to poop I guess. Is it bloat Or blockage?
