I hope people don't think I am silly for posting this, it might even make you giggle, but I would like to know what my piggie was doing.

Yesterday both my sows were up in their hay loft, Floss eating veggies and Jewel eating nuggets from the bowl.

Then my OH asked me what Jewel was doing. So I looked and it was like she was, excuse the expression, 'humping' something. But there was nothing there. It was like she was humping mid air.

It wasn't a popcorn. She had her two front feet on the edge of the bowl like she usually does when she is eating from it.

What was she doing - is this normal?

I just want to check because as far as I know it could be anything - she could have had some sort of pain etc

Even though I have only seen her do this once I wanted to check with you guys as I am in work all day so not there to keep an eye on her to see if she continues to do it.

Thanks guys :)

xx

When girls are in season they do get rather frisky! They will often wipe the bottoms on the bedding after having a pee. Both actions are completely normal and nothing to worry over.

If there are other symptoms such as squeaking while peeing or a mild grunt then there may be more to it - just keep an eye on her and reassess if she shows any discomfort when peeing.

Could it be heaving hiccups? Maybe eating too quickly...my Lexi has been known to do that rolleyes.
