Hey!
This is Harley, he's a gorgeous 1.5 year old boar. He gets weighed and health checked every 2 days and has great owners (if I do say so myself!) he was nutuered on the 3rd of May 2019 and his scars healed great with no issues.
When doing his weekly hairtrim today I noticed a slight matt and dirty spot on his bottom. It's about a inch higher than his anus and is about a cm in diamater. It's hard to the touch and he doesn't seem to mind it being touched. I've attached a photograph but it is hard to get a photo of!
I think that it is a matted piece of fur but it's so close to the skin and as he gets brushed daily I am hoping it's not something more serious.
I'm hoping someone can help! He seems fine in himself and is a joyful boar.

Thanks guys ❤️

Hi! The grease gland sits about a finger's width above the genitalia in line with the spine. It can become very clogged in some boars. If it is swollen ans sore underneath, please have it vet checked as it can get infected (requiring and antibiotic).

Please have a look at this illustrated link with grease gland pictures and tips on how to clean it: Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

I had to give Christian a bum bath this morning to clean his grease gland and to say he wasn't impressed would be an understatement!

Wow thanks guys! I never thought about that, he's my first boar! Thanks so much for the kind help, I'm going to rub some oil onto it and then give him a bath to try and get the grease off. Thanks again! :)
