I finally managed to weigh the boys today - Walter is 840g and Gus is 630g. Is this normal for two almost 7 month old boars? I’ve only had them almost 3 weeks and I don’t think their old owner weighed them. Gus has always been smaller looking than Walter.

Maybe I’m overthinking it? :hmm:

There is no specific weight for age.
What you are checking for is weight trends going upwards while they are young and stabilising at their adult weight.
You are checking that there are no losses, beyond normal fluctuation, which could signify the start of an illness.

You check they are a good size for themselves by checking their heft (guide below explains)

Thank you! That makes sense and that guide is really helpful :)

Both weights are are fine for boys that should be coming up to around three quarters of their final adult weights; they will both end up within the normal adult range. But to be honest, what really counts is that they are a good weight in themselves and not that they fit artificial human definitions. Once you know that, you can then interpret the actual weight/weight loss much better.
