So I weighed my piggies yesterday. They are just over 7 months old. Blossom is 829g which seems healthy for her age I think. She definitely feels a good weight. However Pompom is 561g . She is very little. I know when I got her she nearly died of a lung infection and they did say it might effect her permanently. Could this be due to that? How can I fatten her up? She is naturally smaller. She must have been a runt. Although makes up for it in personality as she is a madam! I am getting a vet appointment too by the way but wanted some extra advice as I'm not sure what's normal gir piggies.

Is she gaining weight each week?
As long as she is gaining weight, then that is the important bit. You can’t compare one piggy to the other because, like people, we all come in different shapes and sizes.
You should not need to artificially fatten her up (and attempting to do so may be unhealthy) just feed a good hay based diet with one cup of veg and one tablespoon of pellets and she will find her own natural adult weight in her own time.

Check her heft to make sure she is a good size for herself. This guide explains how to do that

Of course, a vet check is always a good idea.

Thank you that's really helpful. According to how she feels, she seems normal for her. But I will weight her once a week and keep tabs

Is she gaining weight each week?
If you are worried, you could weigh her daily (at the same time each day) for a few days to check she is definitely eating enough each 24 hour period, switching back to weekly once you are happy she is eating well.
She is small for her age so seeing a vet would be a good idea just to check all is well and for your peace of mind
