Hi again. I just weighed my guinea pigs, two 20 weeks old sows, three baby boars and one baby sow. I just wanted to check that everyone was a healthy weight.
My mother sow, Doris, was 630g
Her playmate Mabel was 750g
The baby boar piggies were, 224g, 239g and 256g
And my baby sow was 219g.
I’d just like to check if everyone is a healthy weight thank you

Unlike with humans (and perhaps other animals), there is no ‘healthy weight range’ for piggies. They come in different shapes and sizes, so you gauge according to their own weight and their heft. Heft is felt around the rib cage area. You shouldn’t be able to feel every rib, but neither should you not feel the ribs at all. Have a look at the link below for more detail (section III).

Sound like good weights to me but as @Siikibam has said, piggies come in all different shapes and sizes and it’s the heft that you are looking and feeling for
