Hi Al,

I need an advice, i send my 2 boys for boarding to help to bond them.
I was told that they will change my boys diet to alternate days vegetables intake instead of daily once and cut down on the vegetables portion too.

I weight 1 of my boy 4days ago he was 1150gram , and i was told that his current weight now is 982gram which frighten me.

Does change of diet changes the weight this much ?

That amount of weight loss is concerning, especially over the space of only a few days. Some of it could be due to scales being calibrated differently, but likely not all.
As hay is the most important part of their diet, absence of veg shouldn't make a big difference.
When will you be collecting them from boarding/bonding?
This question really belongs in the Health&Illness section I think, hopefully a mod can move it to the appropriate place @sport_billy @Wiebke ?

Could be the scales, but alternating days will have an effect less calories equals weight loss.
They have unlimited hay still yes?

How much are they decreasing by compared to what you feed them? I wouldn’t accept that given you feed them a certain way. But as said, a drop in the amount of veg shouldn’t affect them as it’s hay they should be eating the most. Weigh them daily at the same time over the coming week. If they’re still losing every day then you’ll have to step in with syringe feeding and get them booked in with the vet. Hope they’re okay.
