Weight loss

My nearly 3 year guinea pig has lost 200g in last 5 months. He is eating lots and drinking lots. A urine test did not show up any diabetes etc. Before weight loss i noticed he was drinking more.
He had a urine infection that was treated successfully 2 months ago. Urine sample showed up healthy after antibiotics.
He has continued to lose weight.
Local vets said no more they can do I need to find specialists, for a blood test but he thinks is kidney disease.
He is having oxbow supplement for urinary tract.
Apart from weight loss He seems well.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I am syringe feeding critical care.
 
There is a recommended vet list, as we can't see your location we can't advise on local to you. I know that a huge majority will travel a long way to go to Cat and Rabbit as they are very cavy savvy.
