Nugget is worrying me. Logically she's had 2 vet checks and there are no obvious problems. Logically she's eating/ drinking etc fine. Logically she's over 4 and just lost a companion after a long string of illness. Very well could be the reason for weight loss! But... she's just slightly off and so ive booked vet check #3. 🥺
History- nugget has ic, is on bladder supplements, 0.8ml dog metacan twice daily, had a course of cartrophen in December then a top up dose in April. She is not currently flaring up with that. No squeaky peeing or bladder inflammation currently. She went from 1020g to 820g in two months and is now hovering between 800 and 850g. No loss of appetite. Has mouth ulcer on bottom incisor but nothing wrong with the teeth. Hasn't changed much in the past 2 weeks but looks slightly less inflamed today touch wood. Weight loss started way before the ulcer, ulcer likely that she just poked herself. Bit quieter but not consistently, been corner staring a few times this past week (why I booked a vet check) Urine dipstick clear. Two previous recent vet checks no problems found. 😬 eating/drinking/pooping normally. am I just going crazy? Am I right to be taking her back for yet another vet check? I hate mystery weight loss.

If you’re worried then definitely take Nugget back. Maybe it’s the ulcer that’s annoying her so she’s eating less than usual to lose the weight.

Thanks 🥰 I did take nugget back on Friday.. vet thinks the weight loss is because she's getting older. But the ulcer... she doesn't think is an ulcer as it should have healed but her gum is very swollen (like hard swollen too not squishy) It's not looking like an infection, her teeth are perfect! vet says possibly a tumour but as nugget is happy in herself and there'd be not a lot of point in taking samples since it wouldn't be able to be removed in its location and she shows no signs of pain ( high metacam dose!) Then to just keep doing what we're doing :) I'm trying not to think about the possibility of a tumour to be honest so I'm just enjoying her being mostly healthy 🥰

Gosh poor Nugget sounds like something is bothering her. I hope you can get to the root of it and she’s feeling better very soon 🤞

I’m so sorry it may be a tumour. I hope Nugget has lots of happy days left 🤞
