Hi I’m slightly worried about one of my girls, she’s roughly a year old and last week she weighed 880g and today she’s at 837g. She’s eating perfectly fine, running round and popcorning. Is this a normal weight loss or should I be worried?

50g in a week isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things. Does she seem her normal self? If you feel worried about her there's no harm in weighing her every day for the week to see. Hopefully it's a one-off and she will regain it and a little more.

Hi!

At this stage you keep an eye on her and switch to weighing daily at the same time.
We speak of weight loss only over 50g because the difference between and full and empty belly and bladder makes around 30-40g and you see this kind of weight swing over the course of 24 hours.

If the gradual weight loss continues or picks up in speed, then please see a vet promptly. Both these links are worth reading and bookmarking.

Yeah she seems her normal self, wheeking for food and eats straight away and popcorning. Yeah I’m going to weigh her each day. Thankyou!

Only do it if you worry, but by doing so you can get a better feel whether it is just a blip or a real downward trend (and in the second case, how quick it is).
