Hi! I have a piggie coming to 5 months old and she is extremely skittish, she is sometimes ok with me stroking her but hates getting held. I have a really hard time getting ahold of her and getting her to stay on the scales when i do.
My question is how can i weigh her without stressing her out and keeping her comfortable. Thanks (:
 
Hiya, I have had the same issue with one of mine! First of all, what kind of scales do you have?
I've personally bought a little house, turn it upside down and put it in the cage and then place a towel over the top of the little house. Then guide them into it and transfer the upside down house onto the scales (place hand at opening just in case they run away). This would also work with a snuggle sack, depends how much your piggie will move!

I have heard as well people sometimes stand in their home scales to take their weight and then hold them and see the difference?
 
I wouldn’t use the method of standing on weights and holding them.

Try picking one item - a box, cuddle cup or similar to herd her into. You can then put her on the scales in said item. You’d have to weigh it beforehand to know how much you would have to deduct.

Does your scale have a bowl or something you use to weigh her? You could also use a plastic container. Put it on the scales. Herd her into a box or hide and use that to transport her to the scales. You can then sit her in the container that’s on the scales.

No its a flat scale but i do have a scale that comes with a bowl so i might nick that bowl😌. Will give this a try thanks! x
