So today Shenanigans was being greedy and wouldn't let Shillelagh have any pellets until she was done. Shillelagh tried over and over again to get her head in the bowl, but greedy guts wasn't having it. Finally, Shillelagh went to Shenanigans back end and tried bumping her from there to get her out of the way. Shenanigans lifted her back end up and shot her pee out like a water gun. I couldn't believe it! Is this normal behavior? I haven't seen anything like this before. I almost died laughing. When the little fatty was done eating her fill she went to her pigloo and Shillelagh was able to have her fill.

One of my pigs do this and it is quite entertaining 😂. The other one never does it which is strange. Perhaps this is a defence mechanism? It does stop her sister from stealing her treats!

Sows are very good at target peeing in order to protect her precious exterior - ask any husboar (i.e. neutered boar living with sows)! The equivalent of a wdding ring is a yellow nose when it comes to piggies...

Is it strange that I have never seen my other sow do it?

Two of my sows (Kitty and Tina) hate being picked up - they’re rescue piggies and I think they were treated rather roughly in the past. I was trying to pick Kitty up to put her out on the grass the other day and she shot pee at my hand! That’s the first time a sow has ever done that! She’s a stroppy one!

All normal! I’ve only seen my one sow piggy do it before. Quite comical.
I’d advise you have another bowl in there so Shillelagh can’t hog the pellets.
