Weather !

I have South facing windows. Windows closed, blinds closed, and I might still have to move downstairs in a few minutes because it's 24° in here.

I'm going to get complaints from the goblins in a minute because, despite the downstairs not getting anywhere near as much sun as upstairs, it's still too damn hot lol. Those curtains are going to need closing too!

Edit - to give an idea of the heat disparity, it's 24° upstairs with blinds pulled closed. Downstairs, a thermometer sitting in a sunbeam in the living room was registering at 23.2°.

I've slept with my bedside fan on for the last few nights, I put the tower fan on in the living room today!

I managed to give myself heatstroke running a half marathon today..it was supposed to be raining! Far too warm, not enjoying it at the moment at all.

I've had a fan running in here today but not for me, there's no helping that lol :)) it's mostly an attempt to not upset the smoke alarm. It's too warm for dealing with cranky screaming alarms.

I absolutely hate the cold but also will winge when it’s too hot.. I’m a typical British person, never happy whatever the weather 🤣

Winter is approaching here in Aus and I am not impressed with the sudden cold and dampness, yet a few weeks ago I was saying I was sick summer heat lol

I ran my 2 half marathons in September (Great North Run - both documented on here) both years were red hot and I got a fantastic tan! 😁

Well done! Very worthy causes. The great North run is on my "to do" list! I never seem to tan during races, just end up like a lobster. Apparently it's the Scottish blood 🤣

I was quite lucky the first time I ran, as I was a Red Cross volunteer so I got half price entry and didn't have to enter the ballot. I crossed the finishing line absolutely shattered and said I'm never doing that again, fast forward 12 months and I'm stood on the starting line going HTF did I get here! 🤣🤣🤣

I going HTF did I get here! 🤣🤣🤣

The phrase "glutton for punishment" comes to mind!

I'm only second generation English, my grandparents on both sides are from Ireland. 👍

My mum's English, but my Dad's a Belfast lad, although I'm sure if my grandmother heard me call myself Irish she'd about have a fit lol.

Hilariously mum's accent is as broad Norn Iron as you get, she sounds nothing like the posh Dorset woman she used to :))

I've still got both shirts in my memory box complete with vest numbers and finishing medals. 😁

Maternal grandparents are from County Tyrone, paternal grandparents are from County Cork. 👍

From one end of the spectrum to the other, Carlisle was the wettest part of the country, I left my house at 4.50am expecting to get to the station for 5.30am for a cuppa prior to a 6am start - how wrong was I, I finally got in at 6.55am minus my front number plate and car under tray! 😱

Gosh. I hope you are ok?

I am, my little Civic did its best impersonation of a boat and got me through all the floods in one piece, more than can be said for the car. I've ordered a replacement number plate holder for £5, the under tray won't cost anything to take off, I just hope I can find my number plate on the way home.

We didn't get any of the promised rain today (yet). I'm pleased as I had to walk into town. It has gone from being hot enough for a skirt and flip flops to so cold I needed heavy weight trousers and a winter coat!
