most of you know I acquired a Mommy (who is probably pregnant again) and two babies and one turned out to be a boar. Estimating the babies to be about 3 weeks old, I went ahead and separated the boar from the girls. (Mommy also keeps chattering when the little ones tried to nurse, and sounds very displeased). Currently the cage is sitting next to the others and he is crying his little head off. Do I need to move him into another room so he can't smell them or leave him next to them?

Baby boars can make a lot of noise when taken away from mum - what does he weigh? I normally take them out at 3 weeks or when they start to hump, whichever comes first! They're usually 250g or more by then.

I would perhaps try moving him out of crying distance, I expect he's lonely poor fella but being right next to her cage might be making him worse. Will he have a friend?

yesterday he was up to 274g, but as far as I could tell he wasn't trying to mount the ladies, but he was harassing Mommy trying to nurse. I moved him into the TV room (as I had given the piggies my guest room) and he was a little whiny for a while, but he played with my cats through the bars :))

I moved him into my room last night and he wasn't loud enough to wake me up, and he's still asleep right now.

We're gonna re-home the little guy because I don't have room for another C&C cage in my tiny house.

He probably just needs a friend to snuggle up to. Try giving him a teddy or something similar (something that wont matter to him or you if he chews...). He needs a new friend ASAP but I wouldn't recomend you rehome him just yet - you don't want to put him through too many big changes all at once.

I can't get him a buddy right at this moment, unfortunately. The place I have been waiting on for 3 weeks now to get Pola a buddy still doesn't have any ready to go........I am REALLY hoping this week I can get over there and get them each a buddy. But at this rate who knows rolleyes

I have a feeling I might actually keep Shotzie if I can find him a buddy, of course, I will have to make room.

Sorry I don't know your full situation - is Pola a boy and if so, could he be Shotzie's buddy? Obviously if not ignore me!

No, Pola is a sow. Oh no, believe me if she was a boar, they could definitely be buds! :))

(I should have clarified ;) )
