Teenage Guinea Pig
Hi guys, we recently rehomed a baby boar to keep Buddy company after Diesel passed away. So Buddy and Herbie really hit it off so much that Herbie would cry come nighttime when we separated them for the night. Buddy and Diesel had separate cages at night as they only tolerated each other in the playpen during the day . I bought new 120 cm cages for them so I had a 100 cm one and a 80 cm one spare. These two cages are far too small individually so we decided to get creative and join them together so the two boys could have more space.
The two cages are different widths and slightly different heights. After much thought we came up with a plan, we cut a hole in the narrower side of each cage and David cut three pieces of wood, one for the floor and two for the sides as there was a small gap between the two cages that a baby guinea could escape through. We then just cable tied the two narrower sides of the bars together to help keep things stable.
This seems to be working very well and my piggies are happy. If things stay the same after Herbie goes through his teenage tantrums we will do the same with the two 120 cm cages.
