I noticed Pepper was squinting and when i tried to open his eye he squeaked at me, vets are booked for 4:30 I couldn’t see any hay or ulceration, but there is a bit of yellow crust around it!
I hope it is just a pesky hay poke!

Thanks everyone… especially for the kisses Lexi 🥰

Ouch, that looks sore. Hopefully it's just a hay poke. Let us know how you get on Pepper. Slave should give you extra veggie treats tonight as compensation for taking you to see the vets and for any yucky medicines slave insists you have. You may need to get in touch with the GPU for further advice on this matter.

Dear Pepper

Lexi has confessed that she sent you piggie kisses this morning as you have a poorly eye (she is such a tart!). As @Engel has already stated you should get extra treats for the indignity of being poked and prodded by the Nasty Vet Man. If possible wee on the table as vets like you doing that and add a poop or two in for good measure while you're about it. I don't condone nipping but if the Nasty Vet Man hurts you in anyway a gentle nip to remind him that you're not happy is not a bad thing.

You may have to have eyedrops. If this is the case, let your Slave put them in the eye but make it difficult for her. Just when the drop is about to fall into your eye, close it quickly. Do this a couple of times and then let the drop go in as this will make your eye feel much better. Hopefully, you'll be given yummy Metacam too.

Yours hoping that you eye feels better soon.

Oh poor Pepper. Hopefully you’ll be better soon and can open your eye. You need to keep watch of those slaves.

Dear Thea

I will do my best to make sure the vets knows just how much pain I am in so I get lots and lots of treats! I love to nip mummy so I will definitely do this to the vets as well!
And if mummy thinks she is getting drops in my eye.. well good luck! I already get yummy Metacam once a day for my harsh breathing so maybe I will get my second dose back!
I will keep you all updated on my visit when I am back.. we are seeing another new vet and our other new vet didn’t have an appointment so we are going to a different branch (closer to home, but no piggies specialists).

All the best at the vets! You can't necessarily spot a non-ulcerated eye injury that is masked by a film of tear fluid, as I know from my own experienced. All the best at the vet and their magic trick with the dye and the ultraviolet light torch!

There was a fairly small piece of hay really wedged in at the back, the vet managed to get it out no problems, no ulcer or damage. We have the usual antibiotic eye drops for a week. He was very good at letting us out the first one in!

Glad that it is nothing major! All the best with the medication.

Aw glad to hear it was ‘just’ hay 😬 hope the lovely Pepper is a good patient for his medication 🤞

Pleased he’s doing okay he must be feeling so much better now the piece of hay is out. All four of our girls have had eye issues in the last 3 weeks. We’ve bought from the same hat supplier for a long time now but sadly this batch was full of grass seeds. 3 girls with HUGE grass seeds in their eyes and one with a lovely hay poke. They don’t even have any hay hung up it’s all in trays for them couldn’t believe it! Little one is lucky no ulcers. Hope they’re on the mend ❤️Xx
