We would really appreciate some experienced advice.

We have a male guinea pig called Bobby. He is 2. We noticed 2 weeks ago that he was lethargic and not eating much. We took him to the vet straight away (at this point he weighed 1.4 kg). We wanted to rule out gut issues and teeth issues so for 5 days he was on ranitidine and metacam and also critical care. The meds’ didn’t change anything and he was going downhill so we took him back to the vets where he was sedated to check his teeth. His mouth was clean, no teeth problems, no ulcers, sores etc. They then x rayed and his bladder was fine, the only thing they could see was a distortion in his saecum ( at this point he was 1.27 kg with a low temp) so he was given emeprid and stayed on ranitidine. We continued with as much critical care as we could get in him and metacam. He hasn’t picked up since this so we have stopped critical care but have started fibre plex. every couple of hours we are offering all types of veggies we can imagine. But he will excited at the sound of biscuits or doing hay or bringing out food but only nibbles the tiniest amount and sometimes not at all. My question is obviously his stomach is going into stasis can he come back from this or am I prolonging a long death? He has a brother who doesn’t want to lose him and we are very sad. Any advice or knowledge is much appreciated. Many thanks

P.s. his poos have remained the size of mouse droppings for 2 weeks. We don’t know if it is a sort of anorexia and that’s why he isn’t eating that much.
