The fact that a few of them claim to be “exotic” really annoys me. It would take one google search to find that guinea pigs cant and shouldn’t be in balls/wheels due to their spine, but they can’t even do that.

Thank you for making the post, i’ve sent a couple emails already and hopefully in quantity we can make a change to promote the use of safe and fun toys for guinea pigs.

I think there is no need to encourage a barrage of emails telling someone they are wrong. That is not generally how you get through to people and gets their defenses up. One email from one person, politely pointing out the error should be enough.

If you have already sent emails please just post on here if any insist they are right and refuse to remove their recommendation.

Although I understand what you mean, atleast from my end, I sent kind and informative emails asking for change and explaining why. I explained why wheels and balls were unsafe for guinea pigs and asked politely that they could edit their post or take it down (if it was only about wheels for example).

I’ve received one answer from around 8 emails sent, which is why in quantity (only a couple people, I never would expect hundreds, even tens of people who have the time to write emails to them), I believe we are more likely to see change, as some of these pages are quite big and they may not enact change until there are multiple people concerned.

Please don’t post any more links. We are all well aware of the multitude of woeful sites and huge amounts of ill conceived and poor advice that exist on the internet. I’d rather we focussed on providing our own good advice service on here than publicising others’ failings.
