As you can see woody has quite the collection of meds to treat his ongoing health issues, I have started to put minute amounts of ribena or puree in his foul tasting medicines in a bid to mask them but has anyone got any tried and tested (also not so sugary) ways? I am well versed on how to give the meds but woody started to not swallow and spit it out if it's not laced with something nice! 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s a difficult one isn’t it, I think you are probably best with the juice or purée that you are giving or perhaps some mashed banana? I have given that in Critical Care when I couldn’t get my Ted to eat it as a last resort

When I first got my piggies, they were very sick and I had to give them multiple syringes of meds/probiotics everyday for a while. They would try to spit out the medicine occasionally. My trick was to give the meds and immediately offer a watery vegetable like cucumber, pepper, or lettuce. It worked really well, they were too worried about eating the veggie to spit out the medicine and I think it helped get rid of the taste they didn't like.

I have found it easier to rather give a small amount of something foul tasting (easier to get in) and then immediately follow up with water or some watery veg to take away the taste.

Also use our piggy whispering tip to assert your authority in their own social interactive language so they are better behaved. You reward positive behaviours with lots of praise and piggy style eye rubs around the eye. This does help with attitudes.
