is it true you shouldn’t light candles or use scented wax melts in the same room as guinea pigs? I’ve always used them in the living room where my boys live and have never had problems before.

my wife uses scentsy wax electrical melty pots. No problems that i know of. Scentsy swear that everything they do is pet safe. But i dont know how they can prove that

It can get to the point though wear you just cant do anything. I do make sure i dont use furniture polish unless its sprayed on the rag in a different room first, and i wont use bleach forvthe bathroom unless the bathroom door is shut with the window open

My friend works for scentsy and from what Ive figured from her posts, its pet safe due to all the ingredients in the wax being natural

Forever living also do pet safe products like antibacterial sprays. But you may aswell just use animal cage cleaner on your own stuff, its cheaper. I think its pet birds that react badly to candles

So do you think it’s safe for me to still burn my wax melts in the same room as my guinea pigs?

All il say is i have done for about a year and not had any problems. No respiratory issues. So yea for me id say safe.

Hi!

Please do NOT use any highly scented wax melts and scent sticks in a room with guinea pigs.

Their respiratory system is pretty small and much more sensitive than ours. Some piggies can react badly. That also goes for air fresheners and in rare cases even perfumed human skin care products.

Hello, I have wax melts that are made from soya and was wondering if I could burn that in the same room as the piggies if I have ventilation and it isn't anywhere near there cage

Hi!

It is not about the material but the scents. Guinea pigs have a different body chemistry and very small, sensitive airways. If you can, please avoid them being in the same room.

Please listen to the excellent advice given above.
It is not safe to burn any sort of scented candle in the same room/area as a guinea pig.
They have no way to escape from smells they find overwhelming.

Okay well things are burning all throughout the house and different scents fill the house so I don't know how it will make a difference they often come sit in the front room where a wax melt is burning

As someone who finds perfume smells overpowering and get a banging headache very quickly, you might not know from looking at your piggies whether they're OK or not with perfumed products. Really best to avoid.
